Job summary
Contact Energy is seeking an Engineering Manager for the BESS 2 project in Aotearoa, New Zealand. You will lead a multi‑discipline engineering team through design, procurement, construction and commissioning, ensuring safe, reliable and economical outcomes for the lifecycle of the assets.
You will drive technical decisions, manage interfaces with consultants, vendors and stakeholders, and shape maintenance thinking for the new assets, while aligning with regulatory and safety requirements and
Qualifications
- Experience leading engineering teams in large energy infrastructure projects.
- Ability to manage interfaces between consultants, vendors and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of design contracts, technical specifications and lifecycle asset management.
Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead for BESS‑2 from design through operation.
- Coordinate discipline engineers, consultants and partners to deliver the project.
- Oversee QA/QC, risk, and interface management with Transpower and other stakeholders.
- Shape operation and maintenance thinking for new assets.
- Balance engineering, commercial and programme considerations to deliver lifecycle value.
