Job summary

The Wyndham Club in Auckland is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our opening team and help establish standards, culture and service style from day one.

Lead the restaurant, oversee daily service, train and develop staff, manage rosters, and coordinate with kitchen and bar to ensure smooth, high‑quality guest experiences. Minimum of 2 years' experience, strong leadership and communication, and the right to work in New Zealand are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Restaurant Manager.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Passion for hospitality and people development.
• Ability to maintain consistency and service standards under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the restaurant team to create a positive and professional workplace culture.
• Oversee daily service and ensure exceptional standards of hospitality.
• Train, coach and develop team members.
• Manage rosters, breaks and staffing levels to support smooth service.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, service and cleanliness.
• Ensure responsible service of alcohol and compliance with Host Responsibility requirements.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally.
• Monitor restaurant operations, stock and wastage.
• Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to maintain seamless service.
• Support the implementation and ongoing development of operational procedures.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and staff training.
• Lead by example and remain hands-on during busy services.
• Support events, functions and special service requirements.
• Communicate effectively with management and the wider team.
