Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to manage our client’s credit and collections function. You will assess creditworthiness, manage customer accounts, and ensure timely collection of outstanding payments while minimising bad debt and optimising cash flow in a fully remote role.

You should be highly organised, detail oriented, and possess strong negotiation and communication skills. The role requires independence and persistence to meet collection targets, with collaboration

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or debt collection is essential.
• Proficiency in accounting software or credit management systems.
• Strong understanding of credit management principles and debt collection practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, conducting credit checks and recommending credit limits.
• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring adherence to credit policies.
• Proactively contact customers to collect outstanding debts via phone, email, and other communication channels.
• Negotiate payment arrangements with customers when necessary, ensuring agreements are adhered to.
• Resolve customer queries and disputes related to invoices and payments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities and customer communications.
• Prepare regular reports on the status of outstanding debts, aged debtors, and potential risks.
• Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to manage credit risks effectively.
• Identify and report on trends in customer payments and potential areas of concern.
• Contribute to the improvement of credit control processes and policies.
