Job summary

Summerset in the Bay village is hiring a Registered Nurse to join a team delivering quality aged care and resident-centered living. You’ll lead on shifts, develop care plans, and partner with families to enhance daily life.

With NZ Registration and a Practising Certificate, you’ll support residents’ clinical needs, mentor care staff, and help create a positive, compassionate care environment in a village-focused setting.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and a current Practising Certificate.
• Interest in working with older people and retirement village care.
• Ability to lead, remain calm, and be emotionally resilient.
• Good communication to build rapport with residents, families and colleagues.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at ourSummerset in the Bayvillage, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

This role works between 60 - 80 hours per fortnight on a 4 days on, 2 days off roster.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
