Summerset is seeking a Registered Nurse for our SummersetBoulcott village in New Zealand. You will join a team providing high-quality aged care and strive to enhance residents’ quality of life through resident-directed care.

Typical duties include managing residents’ needs, developing care plans, leading shifts, delivering nursing care and mentoring caregivers. NZ Registration and Practising Certificate are essential, with strong communication and resilience required.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and Practicing Certificate is required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Good communication skills and ability to build rapport with residents, families and colleagues.

Job Description:

As a Registered Nurse at our SummersetBoulcott village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

The shift pattern and hours for this role are: 4 days on, 2 days off (2AM, 2PM)

Qualifications:

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
