Job summary

Summerset - Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Boulcott village. You will lead care on shifts, manage residents' daily needs, and develop care plans focused on quality of life in a resident-directed model.

You will hold NZ registration with a current Practising Certificate, and bring strong communication and resilience to a diverse resident and family community. Roles are on-site with a 4-on/2-off shift pattern.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurse with a current Practising Certificate.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Excellent communication skills and rapport with residents, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage residents’ daily needs, from clinical to end-of-life care.
• Plan and follow long-term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Take charge on shifts and make appropriate clinical decisions.
• Deliver planned nursing care and assess progress with residents and families.
• Provide guidance to caregivers on shift and build trusted relationships.

As a Registered Nurse at our Summerset Boulcott village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

The shift pattern and hours for this role are: 4 days on, 2 days off (2AM, 2PM)

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village

• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
