Job summary

Summerset Holdings is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Summerset in the Bay village to provide high-quality aged care and support residents in living their best life.

You’ll manage residents’ daily needs, develop care plans, lead shifts, and mentor care staff, with a resident-directed approach and strong emphasis on quality of life. The role offers a 4-on/2-off roster and supportive benefits.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and current Practicing Certificate.
• Interest in working with older people and understanding of clinical services in a retirement village.
• Ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and colleagues.

Job Description:

As a Registered Nurse at ourSummerset in the Bayvillage, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

This role works between 60 - 80 hours per fortnight on a 4 days on, 2 days off roster.

Qualifications:

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.
