Job summary

Summerset Mountain View village is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our care team. You will provide high-quality aged care, support residents’ quality of life, and work within a resident-directed approach.

This full-time role involves 64–80 hours per fortnight across AM, PM and Night shifts, with 4 days on, 2 days off. NZ Registration and Practising Certificate required, plus leadership and resilience in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and Practising Certificate required.
• Experience in aged care preferred.
• Leadership, calmness under pressure and resilience valued.

Responsibilities

• Manage residents’ daily care needs and clinical assessments.
• Develop and follow long-term care plans with residents and families.
• Take charge on shifts and make clinical decisions when needed.
• Deliver planned nursing care and evaluate progress with residents and families.
• Provide guidance to care staff and build trusting relationships.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at our Summerset Mountain Viewvillage, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

This is a full time role working 64 - 80 hours per fortnight. The shift pattern and hours for this role are: 4 days on, 2 days off working a mix of AM, PM and Night Shifts.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
