Job summary

Summerset Holdings in Wellington's Boulcott village is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our casual pool. You will support residents with comprehensive nursing care, contribute to long-term care plans and lead shifts when required.

You must hold NZ registration and a current Practising Certificate, enjoy building rapport with residents and families, and be resilient under pressure. Night shifts 11pm–7am are available, with weekend premiums and opportunities for future part-time or

As a Registered Nurse in our casual pool at our Summerset Boulcott village, you will be part of a team of casuals that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

This is a casual position, working on an 'as and when required basis', however we are specifically looking for someone who can cover night shifts 11pm-7am.

Qualifications:

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people, from residents, families and your colleagues
