Only Ur's Limited in Dunedin, New Zealand seeks an experienced Duty Manager to oversee daily front‑of‑house and operations of our Indian restaurant. This hands‑on supervisory role manages staff, service quality, stock and customer experience during shifts.

The role requires a NZ Register Level 2 diploma (or equivalent) or at least one year in a supervisory role, strong communication and leadership, LCQ eligibility, and weekend availability. Minimum 30 hours weekly; pay NZ$25.00–$28.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure customers receive prompt service and quality food and beverages.

• Take stock of supplies and order new stock; ensure correct pricing.

The Westport Deep Sea Fishing School has a wide range of courses tailored to the Maritime Industry.

We are now seeking expressions of interest for our 2026 courses; The next available intakes will be September 21st October 26th 2026. These courses are subject to age and NCEA qualification criteria.

Westport Deep Sea Fishing School is seeking applications for our pre-employment programs.

Re-train with industry created programs that will kick start your career in sea going positions on NZ owned deep sea factory ships.

Successful students are facilitated into paid employment in the seafood industry; this however is dependent on usual employment practices, Company and vessel availability.

Starting wages ranging from 60 – 70k per year depending on trip lengths.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality food and beverages


• Responding to customer inquiries and complaints about food, beverages and service


• Planning and preparing staff work schedules and rosters, and assigning staff to specific duties


• Interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances


• Instructing staff on how to handle difficult or complicated customer service situations


• Examining returned or incorrect orders and deciding on appropriate action


• Taking stock of food and beverage supplies and ordering new stock


• Ensuring menu items and products are correctly priced and displayed


• Ensuring health, safety and security procedures are enforced

Skills and Experience Required

• A New Zealand Register Level 2 diploma (or higher) relevant to hospitality/retail operations, OR at least one year of relevant work experience in a supervisory or duty management role


• Strong communication and leadership skills


• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced restaurant environment


• Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ), as this role involves the sale and supply of alcohol


• Availability to work weekends is essential

Hours and Pay

A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed. Pay will be between $25.00 and $28.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
