Job summary

Nelson Marlborough Health is seeking a Clinical Administration Support for the Referral Centre at Wairau Hospital. This permanent full-time role supports the administrative management of external and interdepartmental referrals, ensuring smooth operations and timely appointment bookings.

You will join a high-performing team of clinicians and administration staff, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality and excellent customer service. Hours are Monday to Friday; starting times to be discussed.

Qualifications

• Typing speed of 50 words per minute is essential.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite with strong computer literacy.
• Demonstrates empathy, discretion, and a commitment to patient confidentiality.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge and enter referrals into the patient management system.
• Update referral statuses following triage.
• Respond to enquiries from staff, clinicians and external referrers.
• Review and act on reporting information to ensure targets are met.
