Job summary

Brendan Murray Construction is seeking an intermediate Quantity Surveyor to own commercial management for Auckland projects. You’ll oversee cost planning, budgeting and monthly reporting while coordinating with Project and Site Managers to keep costs controlled and clients informed.

Key duties include subcontractor procurement, progress claims, variations, final accounts and cost-to-complete forecasting. NZS3910 familiarity and Procore experience are valued.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Solid understanding of NZ standard contracts (NZS3910 or similar).
• Procore experience preferred; familiarity with Aconex or similar platforms.

• Progress claims, from preparing client claims to certifying subcontractor payments.

Quantity Surveyor | Grafton Office, Auckland | Full-Time

We're looking for an intermediate Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial management on our Northern Region projects, from initial budget through to final account. You'll work closely with our Project Managers and Site Managers to keep costs under control, subcontractors paid correctly, and clients informed every step of the way.

What You'll Own

• Cost planning, budgeting and monthly cost reporting across your projects
• Subcontractor procurement, including scopes, tendering, contracts and negotiation
• Progress claims, from preparing client claims to certifying subcontractor payments
• Variations, from identification through pricing, negotiation and close-out, with a clean paper trail throughout
• Final accounts and cost-to-complete forecasting
• Working alongside our Project Administrators to keep document and variation registers accurate and up to date

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• A solid understanding of NZ standard construction contracts (NZS3910 or similar) and variation administration
• Procore experience is strongly preferred; familiarity with Aconex or similar platforms is also welcome
• Strong Excel skills for cost tracking and reporting
• Someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and never lets the numbers slip
• Based in Auckland with full NZ working rights
