Qualifications

• Proven commercial construction quantity surveying experience.

Our client is a growing commercial construction company with a strong reputation for quality delivery and genuine client care. With a healthy pipeline of projects typically valued around $5 million to $6 million, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team permanently.

This is a broad, hands-on role covering the full commercial lifecycle, from estimating and take-offs through to valuations, cost reporting and final accounts. You will also work closely with clients and support the wider team with construction management activities where required.

The business is agile, collaborative and highly process-driven, with a strong commitment to quality and health and safety. This would suit a capable QS who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships and contributing beyond a narrowly defined commercial role.

The role

About you

• Proven commercial construction quantity surveying experience
• Strong estimating, measuring and take-off capability
• Confident managing valuations, cost reporting and project documentation
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients
• Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
• NZIQS membership or equivalent would be advantageous
• Experience within a small or medium-sized contractor would be beneficial
