Job summary

ALH New Plymouth is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. You will manage project costs from tender through to completion, working closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure budgets are met.

The role requires a solid grasp of cost management, tendering, variations and contract administration, with strong numerical skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction costs and contracts.
• Experience with estimating, tendering and variations.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; good computer skills, especially Excel.
• Ability to work independently while integrating with a wider team.
• Practical understanding of how construction projects operate.

Responsibilities

• Preparing tenders, estimates and project budgets.
• Reviewing drawings and quantities to ensure accuracy.

We're looking for someone who understands the commercial side of construction and can confidently manage project costs from tender through to completion.

About the role

As the Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget and remain commercially successful. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to manage costs, contracts and project financials.
