Job summary

Rwr Construction in Tauranga is seeking an experienced Residential Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a pipeline of residential projects.

From early pricing through to project completion, you will prepare estimates, cost plans, procurements, manage budgets, variations and payment claims, and support project managers on site with strong commercial judgment.

Qualifications

• Residential Quantity Surveying experience is required or highly preferred.
• Strong estimating and post-contract QS capability.
• Excellent commercial judgement and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and detailed cost plans for residential projects.

Our client is a well-established residential builder with an exciting pipeline of work and a reputation for delivering quality homes across the Bay of Plenty. Due to continued growth, they're looking to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.

This is a broad role where you'll be involved from the early pricing stages through to project completion, working alongside experienced estimators, project managers and operational leaders on a diverse range of residential projects.

You'll play a key role in the commercial delivery of residential construction projects, with responsibilities including:

• Preparing estimates and detailed cost plans.
• Procurement and subcontractor engagement.
• Producing purchase orders and managing budgets.
• Contract administration and project cost control.
• Managing variations and payment claims.
• Supporting Project Managers throughout construction.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Contributing to value engineering and commercial decision-making.

About You.

• Residential Quantity Surveying experience (group housing experience preferred).
• Strong estimating and post-contract QS capability.
• Excellent commercial judgement and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
