Job summary

Harper Smith Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a Tauranga based commercial construction team. The role focuses on full lifecycle cost management for $10m+ projects, with responsibility for budgets, tender analysis and subcontractor commercial agreements.

You will work within a main contractor/developer environment to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards. NZ citizenship or residency is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working on NZ commercial packages.
• Strong procurement and budget control skills.

• Qualified Quantity Surveyor with NZ qualifications.

We are seeking a seeking enquiries from experienced Quantity Surveyors who are comfortable working with $10m ++ commercial construction packages in NZ to become part of the cohesive and professional team within this well recognised regional commercial developer & developer.

This new position has come about through growth in workload and will see the successful candidate thriving in a project focused role working alongside a high performing commercial team with the ability to be totally hands on.

• Accurately set and measure all pricing.
• Prepare registrations of interest, estimates and proposals for the Sales function of the business.

The Role

You will be part of a QS team working closely with the Commercial Lead for the entire lifecycle of allocated packages, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.We are seeking interest from experienced QS's with clear NZ experience on decent sized commercial projects, having previously worked in a main commercial contractor or developer environment.

You will be responsible for full contract administration duties, budget comparisons, tender analysis of sub-contractors, sub-contractor agreements, variations and preparation of budgets.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Main contractor experience within the main commercial contracting New Zealand market.
• Solid contractual knowledge of 3910
• Strong procurement practices & strategies with aproven track record of successfully procuring for and delivering commercial projects.
• A degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institute
• Robust financial acumen and commercial awareness, adept at managing budgets, contracts, and procurement processes.
