Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

If you are an experienced project manager with exposure and experience across construction-related or civil environments, then this is a great team to be joining. You may already be leading a team across a range of projects, or on the tools currently and looking to take a step up into the commercial side of a business.

Our client, Eric Wiig Ltd is a well-run, highly successful Hawke’s Bay business. We’ve loved recruiting and building this team over the years. They are a great crew, well-known and highly regarded for their expertise in painting and specialist coating services across commercial, industrial and residential projects. They have been operating for over 50 years and continue to build strong client relationships which reflects in their ongoing growth. This project manager role is key in them managing their workflows and further stepping up their service delivery levels.

As the project manager of their resin flooring, waterproofing and specialist coatings division, you will sit across a broad range of projects from initial site measure and quotation, right through to project completion and final client handover. You will be responsible for the day-to-day team management and running of each job to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will also be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered profitably, scheduling and coordinating labour, ensuring all materials are on hand, overseeing the quality of work, monitoring progress and keep clients informed along the way. This is a varied and hands-on role that will keep you busy, and you will be well supported by the experience of a team of project managers around you.

To be successful here, you will be well known for your people management skills, be results driven and will likely have sat across project management in trades-related practices. Knowledge of resin flooring processes and products is not essential but would be highly regarded. You will need to enjoy working at pace and be able to manage many priorities and demands at any one time.

We are looking for someone with the ambition to become an expert in their field - someone prepared to immerse themselves in the industry and continually develop their knowledge of products, systems and emerging technologies. You will be a confident communicator, capable of representing the business professionally. You will know how to manage and get the best out of people, have sound technical ability, strong communication and organisational skills, and be professional in your approach.

If you are looking for a hands-on leadership role working with a great bunch of people, then
