Job summary

New Zealand Post in Palmerston North is seeking a Processing Officer on call to support our Manawatu Operations Centre. The role includes sorting, consolidating and dispatching parcels and freight, with night shifts 10:00pm–6:30am and Sunday to Friday on an as-needed basis.

You’ll need reliable transport, a focus on safety and detail, and the ability to lift up to 25kg. Eligibility to work in New Zealand is required; drug testing and security checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Be a committed teammate, keeping yourself, others and the site safe.
• Able to lift up to 25kg continuously.
• Must have reliable transport to perform duties.
• Be available to cover night shifts between Sunday and Friday 10:00pm–6:30am as required.

Responsibilities

• Sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels and freight at the Manawatu Operations Centre.
• Support the team during peak delivery periods as an on-call member.
• Maintain safety and accuracy in handling parcels.

Our Processing Officers create the magic by sorting, consolidating and dispatching parcels and freight at our Manawatu Operations Centre, ready for our couriers to deliver.

We're a lively bunch, with a diverse set of skills, but we all share one common goal - to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our beautiful Aotearoa.

On Call employees are an essential part of our business as we call on them to assist us as and when required. You might be called in to cover illness, extended leave or help us our during our peak delivery periods. It's a great way to balance work and lifestyle!

What we need from you:
