Job summary

New Zealand Post is seeking a Processing Officer on call in South Dunedin. Shifts run midnight to 7am, with a pay rate of $26.75 per hour plus a night rate allowance until 6am. The role involves sorting, consolidating and dispatching parcels for courier delivery from the Strathallan Street branch.

Ideal candidates are reliable team players, able to lift up to 25 kg, and possess good attention to detail and local geography knowledge. On‑call work supports peak periods and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Be a committed teammate, keeping yourself, others and the site safe.
• Energy for a physically demanding role and able to lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels and freight at the Strathallan Street branch.
• Support couriers to deliver parcels during on-call periods.
• Fill in as needed to cover sickness, leave or peak delivery periods.

Our Processing Officers create the magic by sorting, consolidating and dispatching parcels and freight at our Strathallan Street branch, ready for our couriers to deliver.

We're a lively bunch, with a diverse set of skills, but we all share one common goal - to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our beautiful Aotearoa.

On Call employees are a vital part of our business. You can be called on to cover staff sickness, leave or to assist us with our peak delivery periods. Its a great way to get work / life balance!
