Job summary

NZ Post is seeking a Processing Officer for on-call shifts at the Whangarei depot. You will sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels to support our courier network. Responsibilities include safe handling, attention to detail and timely performance during assigned shifts.

This role requires a physically able candidate with a full NZ driver’s license; OSH certification is desirable. On-call availability Monday to Friday supports varying volumes and coverage at the Whangarei site.

Qualifications

• Be a committed teammate, keeping yourself, others and the site safe.
• Have reliable transport to get to work on time.
• Be able to commit to the shift above.
• Full NZ drivers license + OSH Certificate/ F Endorsement (desirable).
• Energy for a physically demanding role – can you lift up to 25kgs continuously?
• An eye for detail and good geographical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels and freight at Whangarei depot.
• Support on call shifts and be available when required.
• Ensure safety and accuracy in handling goods and documentation.

• $26.75 per hour - paid fortnightly
• On Call: work as and when required
• Location: 35 Union East Street, Whangarei
• Forklift license desirable

Our Processing Officers create the magic by sorting, consolidating and dispatching parcels and freight at our Whangarei depot, ready for our couriers to deliver. We're a lively bunch, with a diverse set of skills, but we all share one common goal - to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our beautiful Aotearoa. This will cover higher volumes, staff leave or sickness.
