Job summary

North Island - Auckland Central Auckland seeks a Part-time AOD Clinician to work in a community-based service. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop recovery-focused plans, and deliver tailored therapeutic interventions in partnership with Peer Support Specialists.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in AOD/mental health, strong addiction knowledge, and current First Aid certification. A full NZ driver license is preferred and the role offers flexible community-based outreach.

Qualifications

• Current DAPAANZ registration preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in AOD and/or mental health settings.
• Strong knowledge of addiction, recovery and therapeutic frameworks.
• Experience completing clinical assessments and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive AOD assessments and develop individualised, recovery-focused treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions tailored to each person’s needs, strengths and goals.
• Work collaboratively with Peer Support Specialists to deliver person-centred care.
• Build effective relationships with whānau, community organisations and other support services.
• Assess and respond to risk, including developing appropriate safety and relapse-prevention plans.
• Maintain clear, accurate and timely clinical records.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate group education and recovery programmes.
• Contribute to a service that is culturally responsive, trauma-informed and grounded in recovery principles.
