Job summary

Department of Corrections NZ is seeking an experienced AOD Clinician to join our Papakura team in a permanent, part-time role of 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role supports adults in community-based services.

You’ll work in a dual Peer Support and Clinician model delivering holistic, culturally responsive assessment, treatment and outreach in local communities and whānau homes. The service meets people where they are and focuses on recovery.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in AOD and/or mental health settings.
• Current DAPAANZ registration preferred.
• First Aid certification including CPR, or willingness to obtain.
• Full, clean New Zealand driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive AOD assessments and develop individualised, recovery-focused treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions tailored to each person’s needs, strengths and goals.
• Work collaboratively with Peer Support Specialists to deliver person-centred care.
• Build relationships with whānau, community organisations and other support services.
• Assess and respond to risk, including safety and relapse-prevention planning.
