Job summary

Bidfood Waipapa is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our warehouse, dispatch, and distribution activities in Kerikeri - Northland. This hands-on leadership role focuses on building high-performing teams, improving systems, and delivering outstanding service to customers.

You will manage safe, efficient operations 24/6, partner with the GM and HOD team, and balance customer expectations with operational excellence. A passion for coaching, change, and results is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee warehouse, dispatch, and distribution operations.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement across all operational functions.
• Develop and improve systems, reporting, and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Monitor and manage operational performance through KPIs.
• Ensure resources, equipment, and staffing levels support business requirements.
• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse, dispatch, and supervisory teams.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance culture.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and development discussions.
• Empower department leaders to achieve exceptional standards of professionalism and customer service.
• Ensure customer orders are picked, loaded, and delivered accurately and on time.
• Review delivery runs and logistics performance to maximise efficiency while maintaining service standards.
• Work closely with sales, procurement, and administration teams to achieve branch objectives.
• Drive operational decisions that improve customer satisfaction and business outcomes.

Bidfood Waipapa is looking for an experienced, driven, and people-focused Operations Manager to lead our warehouse, dispatch, and distribution operations.

This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building high-performing teams, and has a passion for continuous improvement. Working closely with the General Manager and HOD team, you'll be responsible for ensuring our operation runs safely, efficiently, and consistently delivers outstanding service to our customers.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will oversee all warehouse and distribution activities across the branch 24/6. Your focus will be on leading teams, improving systems and processes, driving operational performance, and ensuring our customers receive the high level of service Bidfood is known for.

This is a hands-on leadership position that requires strong operational knowledge, excellent people leadership skills, and the ability to balance customer expectations with operational efficiency.
