Job summary

Rosewood Hotels in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, seeks an overnight security and guest services professional. You will be responsible for welcoming late night or early morning guests, handling emergencies, patrolling, cleaning public areas, and assisting with meals and beverage service when required.

The role requires at least 3 years in a hotel environment, honesty, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hotel experience.
• Experience across housekeeping and food & beverage.
• Must have a valid working visa.

Responsibilities

• Welcome late night or early morning guests, answer telephones and deliver messages.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Patrol hotel and grounds.
• Clean public areas and floors.
• Remove rubbish and recycling; clean kitchens and related areas.
• Attend to late-night guest requests; assist with meals and beverages.

You will have full responsibility for Hotel's security and guest requirements overnight. In addition, you will be -

• Welcoming late night or early morning guests, answering telephones, delivering messages
• Responding to any emergencies
• Patrolling the hotel and grounds
• Cleaning public areas
• Sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures and fittings
• Removing rubbish and recycling
• Cleaning fireplaces
• Maintaining kitchens, washing dishes and cooking utensils, and cleaning appliances, cupboards, counters, pantries, and floors
• Attending to any late-night guest requests; preparing and cooking meals, and serving food and beverages

What you will bring:

• A passion for service delivery and the hospitality industry
• An understanding of guest expectations and changing expectations, gleaned from at least 3 years' experience in a hotel environment
• Service experience across a variety of hospitality roles, including but not limited to housekeeping and food & beverage
• A high degree of honesty and integrity - the hotel is in your hands
• Excellent presentation and strong communication skills
• A high level of attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills (you will need to be self-motivated too)
• Flexibility and maturity in approach
• Reliability and accountability
• The ability to respond quickly and calmly in an emergency situation
