Job summary

Metlifecare is seeking a Night Porter for Waitakere Gardens Village in Henderson, NZ. You will help maintain a safe, secure environment for residents, respond to emergencies, and perform light cleaning and administrative tasks during the night shift.

Role is part-time, 15 hours per week, with shifts Thursday and Friday 2300–0700. Flexibility to pick up extra shifts is welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience in security is highly desirable.
• Physically able to support residents in emergencies.
• Be super organised and self-motivated.
• Have good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Impeccable personal presentation.
• Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling the Village and regularly viewing CCTV cameras.
• First Responder to emergency call bells.
• Provide direction to residents and visitors as needed.
• Actioning administration duties and general cleaning on the premises.

About the role

We're looking for a Night Porter to work at our lovely Waitakere Gardens Village in Henderson. You will ensure a safe and secure environment in the village for our residents and respond to any emergencies that arise during your watch. You will also be responsible for general cleaning, security and completing related administration duties. This is a rewarding role where you make a difference to the lives of those who call Metlifecare home.

This is a part-time role working 2 nights a week as follows:

Thursday and Friday - 2300 to 0700 = 15hours a week + a 30-minute paid meal break per shift.

Flexibility to pick up additional shifts if someone is away, would be beneficial.

Some of the great things you will be doing include:

• Patrolling the Village and regularly viewing the villages CCTV cameras
• First Responder to emergency call bells
• Provide direction as necessary to residents and visitors
• Actioning administration duties and general cleaning on the premise

About you?

To be successful in this role you'll enjoy fostering and maintaining relationships with our residents, be able to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.

• Be super organised and self-motivated
• Have good communication skills (written and verbal)
• Have impeccable personal presentation
• Current First Aid certificate or prepared to get one asap
