Job summary

Scenic Hotel Group – Queenstown is seeking a dedicated Night Porter to oversee the hotel’s operations during night hours. The role involves greeting guests, assisting with luggage, attending to arrivals and departures, and ensuring a secure, clean lobby and public areas.

Ideal candidates have 1 year hospitality experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work a rotating night schedule including weekends. A valid driver’s license is preferred, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a similar hospitality role desired.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy luggage.
• Positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for guests.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Driver's licence desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests at Reception and assist with luggage.
• Attend to guest needs on arrival and departure.
• Oversee hotel property security and report incidents to Management.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Take a proactive approach to cleaning the reception and public areas.
• Answer enquiries from guests about local attractions.
• Ensure the lobby and public areas are clean, organised, and well presented.
• Take late night room service orders to guests.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as receiving and sorting mail.
• Assist with other Front Office duties as required.
