Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a Night Manager for Peppers Beacon, Queenstown, to oversee operations from 10:30pm to 7am. You will be the nightly point of contact, ensuring guest inquiries are handled, security is maintained, and the front desk runs smoothly.

You'll supervise night audit procedures, manage late-check-ins/out, and support the day team in readiness for morning operations. A customer-service mindset and independent work ethic are essential.

Purpose

As the Night Manager, you will ensure the property runs smoothly from 10:30pm to 7am. During these night time hours when most guests are asleep, you serve as the reliable point of contact, addressing late-night guest inquiries, maintaining security, and managing minor cleaning matters, all to uphold the hotel's exceptional reputation.

26-27 NZD per hour

Minimum Experience/Qualifications

NZQF Level 1 qualification, or compulsory secondary education

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage nightly hotel operations and ensure the safety of all individuals on the premises during your shift
• Deliver continuous customer service throughout the evening, encompassing check-ins, checkouts, and addressing guest inquiries
• Manage the reception desk and oversee night audit and reporting procedures
• Uphold overnight property security standards
• Assist in preparing for the daytime team's operations

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in Night Porter role is highly valued
• A positive demeanour and capable of working independently
• Hold a sincere commitment to customer service, and the technical proficiency to execute nightly front office transaction audits
• Quick thinking, customer-centered trouble shooter with a proactive approach to crafting and delivering memorable guest experiences
