Job summary

WM New Zealand is looking for a Despatch Coordinator to join our team and connect customer service, operations, and drivers in a fast-paced environment. You will coordinate daily job allocations, monitor progress, and communicate delays or changes to customers.

The role requires calm decision‑making, clear communication, and the ability to balance competing demands while maintaining service levels. Office‑based, full‑time, with opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce carbon footprint.

You’ll also be comfortable managing competing demands in a busy operational environment.
Ideally, you will bring:

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily job allocations and callout work.
Monitor rolled, rejected and delayed jobs and take prompt action.
Communicate with customers regarding delays, service issues and changes.
Review routes and assist with sequencing to improve efficiency and productivity.
Work closely with drivers, operations, sales and customer service teams.
Manage correspondence and respond within agreed service levels.
Complete financial confirmations and investigate pricing, disposal‑rate and weight exceptions.
Support reporting, purchase orders, data entry, weighbridge lodgements and end‑of‑month activities.
Identify opportunities to improve fuel efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint.
