Job summary

Mahurangi College invites applications for a Learning Support Coordinator in the Te Korowai Aroha team. You will oversee the learning needs of Year 7 and 8 students and work with two other coordinators to support achievement, wellbeing and inclusion.

Role involves adapting timetables, running literacy and numeracy boosters, and collaborating with assistants, teachers, syndicate leaders and senior leadership. Term 1, 2027 start, base salary set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

Mahurangi College is a thriving secondary school located in Warkworth, with a strong commitment to student achievement, creativity, culture and wellbeing. We have around 1,500 students ranging from Year 7 to Year 13.

Within our school the faculty which co-ordinates and caters for the needs of our neurodiverse students is called Te Korowai Aroha. This LSC position will oversee the learning needs of our Year 7 and 8 students and will involve working alongside two other Learning Support Co-ordinators . The successful applicant will be part of a team directly responsible to the Head of Faculty.

They will be required to have a good understanding of Year 7 and 8 curriculum levels as well as an in-depth understanding of learning differences and be able to adapt student timetables to meet their needs. They will also be required to run literacy and numeracy booster groups. They will work collaboratively as part of a team which will include teaching assistants, teachers, syndicate leaders, senior leadership. They will have experience working with outside learning support agencies and MoE Learning Support.

This position is to commence Term 1, 2027.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from (beginning 2027) $64,119 to $107,886 depending on applicants' qualifications and experience. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
