Job summary

Rocket Lab in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking a Systems Engineer I or II focused on Configuration and Change Management to bridge design, manufacturing and enterprise systems. You will own the ECM process, verify impacts of changes, and drive data integrity across the launch vehicle program.

Ideal candidates will bring a degree in engineering, 1–5 years of relevant experience, and hands-on use of Teamcenter and Jira, with a mindset for automation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1-5 years industry experience in a relevant technical field.
• Drive and Autonomy with ownership of outcomes.
• Systems Thinker Mindset focused on process efficiency and verification.
• Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail to manage critical configuration data.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems (preferably Teamcenter) and workflow software (Jira).

Responsibilities

• Drive ECM process across Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain.
• Identify and verify system-level impacts of changes for launch vehicle improvements.
• Execute against configuration management plan and mature baseline control.
• Conduct configuration validation including EBOM-to-MBOM integrity and obsolescence procedures with Supply Chain.
• Automate data integrity checks across tools to prevent production issues.
• Act as power user of Teamcenter, Jira and Infor LN to ensure data flow across functions.
• Define and uphold high-quality engineering processes.
