Job summary

Rocket Lab in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking a Systems Engineer I or II specialized in Configuration and Change Management. You will drive the ECM process across Systems Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to implement modifications rapidly and fault-free.

You will verify system-level impacts, execute the configuration management plan, and seek opportunities to mature baseline control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1-5 year’s industry experience applied to a relevant technical field (e.g. Mechanical structures, Fluid Systems, Mechanisms, Propulsion, Avionics, Software).
• Drive and Autonomy: demonstrated ability to work with some autonomy and meet deadlines.
• Systems Thinker Mindset: interest in process efficiency and understanding system interdependencies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail with discipline to manage critical configuration data.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems (preferably Teamcenter) and Jira workflow management.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process with cross-functional teams to implement modifications swiftly and without faults.
• Identify and verify system-level impacts of changes to improve the overall launch vehicle.
• Execute against the configuration management plan and identify opportunities to mature baseline control.
• Deliver rigorous configuration validation (fit, form, function) and manage EBOM-to-MBOM integrity and end-of-life obsolescence with Supply Chain.
• Automate data integrity checks across tools to catch missing components and mismatches before impacting production.
• Act as a power user of Teamcenter, Jira, and Infor LN, ensuring data flows across design, manufacturing, and ERP.
