Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Systems Engineer I or II focused on Configuration and Change Management in Auckland, NZ. You will drive the ECM process across Systems Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to implement changes swiftly and with discipline.

You will verify system-level impacts and mature configuration controls, while automating validation tasks and ensuring data integrity across PLM and ERP tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of industry experience in a relevant technical field.
• Drive and Autonomy with ownership of outcomes under tight deadlines.
• Systems Thinker Mindset with focus on process efficiency and verification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail and discipline to manage configuration data.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems (Teamcenter) and Jira workflows.

Responsibilities

• Drive the ECM process with Systems Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Identify and verify system level impacts of changes for improvements.
• Execute against the configuration management plan and mature baseline control.
• Deliver rigorous configuration validation (fit, form, function) and manage EBOM-to-MBOM integrity and obsolescence with Supply Chain.
• Automate data integrity checks across tools to catch missing components and ERP issues.
• Act as a power user of Teamcenter, Jira, and Infor LN, ensuring data flows across design, manufacturing, and ERP.
• Define and uphold high-quality engineering processes.
