Job summary

Rocket Lab in Auckland, NZ is seeking an Integrated Operations Engineer II to join the Launch Operations team at the Auckland Production Complex. You will operate electron launch vehicle mission control, execute testing and launch activities, and contribute to reliable space missions.

Your role involves configuring electrical, avionics, RF, and telemetry systems, driving improvements, and performing real-time troubleshooting with cross-functional collaboration across engineering and technicians.

Qualifications

• Education in Aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic engineering with 3+ years in design, test, and/or operations.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities with a safety-conscious mindset.
• Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute testing and launch operations for Electron vehicles and perform on-console duties.
• Configure and operate electrical systems, avionics, RF, tracking & telemetry, and command & control systems.
• Drive continuous improvement to optimize checkout procedures and increase launch cadence.
• Perform real-time troubleshooting, failure investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Develop proficiency across multiple operational roles and train team members.
• Conduct post-test and post-flight data analysis to inform future operations.
• Support design, development, and operation of test facilities, launch pads, and control centres.
