Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation in Auckland, NZ seeks a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Configuration and Change Management to drive ECM, ensure data integrity, and connect design, manufacturing, and enterprise systems for rapid, reliable launch vehicle evolution.

You will own configuration control across complex systems, automate validation tasks, and work with Teamcenter, Jira and Infor LN to optimize processes in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ industry experience in a relevant technical field.
• Drive and autonomy: able to own outcomes and meet deadlines.
• Systems thinker with focus on process efficiency and objective verification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence and coordinate teams.
• Experience with PLM/PDM (Teamcenter) and Jira workflow systems.
• Familiarity with Infor LN or data visualization tools like Power BI; ability to automate tasks with Python scripts.

Responsibilities

• Drive the ECM process linking Systems Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain.
• Verify system-level impacts to ensure modifications improve the launch vehicle.
• Execute against the configuration management plan and mature baseline control.
• Allocate ~20% time to configuration validation, ensuring EBOM-to-MBOM integrity.
• Automate data integrity checks to catch missing components and ERP sync issues.
• Act as power user of Teamcenter, Jira and Infor LN to track data flows.
• Define and uphold high-quality engineering processes.
