Job summary

Datacom in New Zealand is seeking a Knowledge Specialist to manage and refine our knowledge base for a defined functional area. You’ll create, edit and deliver high-quality technical documentation supporting internal teams and customers.

You’ll collaborate with Development Specialists, ensure alignment to contracts, and help improve information architecture and content standards while enabling efficient information sharing across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in technical writing or knowledge management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or related discipline.
• Knowledge of outsourced IT services and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the internal knowledge base for a specific functional area.
• Writing, editing and refining technical documentation including manuals and installation guides.
• Reviewing and editing contributions to ensure unified, consistent documentation.
• Analyzing program outlines and technical information to develop high-quality manuals.
• Ensuring contractual support and documentation requirements are met.
• Improving content templates, authoring style guides and taxonomies.
• Coordinating search tuning, taxonomy, and dictionary maintenance.
• Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using knowledge-management frameworks.
