Job summary

Keyway Construction Ltd. in Wellington, NZ, seeks an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join the head office team with regular site visits.

The role reports to the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager and focuses on budgets, costings, and commercial administration for Commercial Interiors and seismic projects. You will manage measurement, CVR, cash flows, and final accounts while supporting project delivery across Wellington with a strong pipeline of work and mentorship from senior

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of quantity surveying experience in a main contractor environment.
• Degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Proficiency in measurement software and MS Office tools.
• Understanding of standard contracts and construction law.
• Valid driver’s license for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate budgets, cost plans, and detailed feasibility estimates.
• Source, negotiate, and finalize high-value subcontractor packages.
• Measure work on-site, manage variation claims, and issue progress payments.
• Draft monthly CVRs and cash flow forecasts.
• Negotiate and settle final accounts with clients and subcontractors.

Keyway Construction Ltd – Wellington Central, North Island

An Intermediate Quantity Surveyor position within Keyway Construction Limited, a construction company delivering Commercial Interiors and Seismic strengthening projects. The role is based at the Wellington, NZ Head Office with regular site visits, reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate budgets, cost plans, and detailed feasibility estimates
• Source, negotiate, and finalize high-value subcontractor packages
• Measure work on-site, manage variation claims, and issue progress payments
• Draft monthly cost-value reconciliations (CVR) and cash flow forecasts
• Negotiate and settle final accounts cleanly with clients and subcontractors

About you

• 3–5 years of quantity surveying experience within a main contractor environment
• Degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• Proficiency in measurement software (e.g., Procore, CostX, Cubit, or PlanSwift), Microsoft Word and MS Excel
• Practical understanding of standard construction contracts and construction law
• Clean, valid driver's license required for mandatory site visits
