Job summary

Construction & Technical Recruitment in Wellington is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support a range of infrastructure projects across the Lower North Island. The role offers exposure to early planning stages through to successful delivery in a well-established consultancy.

The candidate will provide commercial support, manage cost plans, procurement, and reporting, working closely with project managers and clients.

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years' Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Background in civil infrastructure, construction or engineering projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Experience with contract administration and cost management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets and project forecasts.
  • Contract administration and commercial management.
  • Manage variations, progress claims and financial reporting.
  • Procurement and tender evaluation.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established project management and infrastructure consultancy based in Wellington.

Working alongside an experienced team, you'll provide commercial support across a diverse range of infrastructure projects throughout the Lower North Island. With a strong and growing pipeline of secured work, this is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience while working with high-profile public and private sector clients.

This role offers genuine variety, long-term career development and the opportunity to be involved in projects from the early planning stages right through to successful delivery.

The Opportunity

As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you'll play an important role in the commercial success of a wide range of infrastructure projects.

  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets and project forecasts.
  • Contract administration and commercial management.
  • Managing variations, progress claims and financial reporting.
  • Procurement and tender evaluation.
  • Cost planning and risk management.
  • Working closely with Project Managers, consultants and contractors.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.

This is primarily an office-based role, with regular visits to project sites across the Lower North Island.

About You
  • Around 3-7 years' Quantity Surveying experience.
  • A background in civil infrastructure, construction or engineering projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Experience with contract administration and cost management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A relevant Quantity Surveying or Construction qualification.
