Leisurecom Homes is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our Cambridge-based team and manage project costs from concept through to completion for modular/transportable residential builds across the North Island. You will prepare feasibility estimates, contract pricing aligned with build specifications, and oversee variation management throughout the construction process.

Leisurecom Homes is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their team and help deliver Modular/Transportable residential build solutions and turn key options across the North Island. As the Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project costs from concept through to completion. Your role will include preparing feasibility estimates, contract pricing aligned with build specifications, and working closely with our Sales Team to develop accurate and competitive proposals. You will also oversee variation management throughout the construction process.
Key responsibilities
Prepare costings alongside the Sales Team from concept through to detailed design
Complete accurate take-offs across all trades for residential and commercial projects
Maintain and continuously improve Excel Pricing, templates and supplier rates
Provide cost advice to clients and the design team
Support direct procurement of materials and Stock inventory management
Recommend preferred suppliers and lock in pricing ahead of construction to protect margins
Price, document and track all variations ensuring approval before scheduling
Track actual costs against estimates and ensure they are inline with expected margins
About you
3+ years' quantity surveying or estimating experience in New Zealand residential construction - design-build, group housing or Transportable exp preferred
Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying (NZIQS membership an advantage)
Proven ability to estimate quickly and accurately from concept-level drawings, not just full documentation
Working knowledge of NZS 3910 / NZCB and residential building contracts, and the Construction Contracts Act 2002
Established relationships with NZ subcontractors and suppliers an advantage
Commercially sharp with genuine attention to detail
Fast and pragmatic; comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a growing business
A great communicator and team player working to keep relationships strong
