Job summary

Allerton Recruitment in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial cost management across a diverse portfolio including new builds, remediation and refurbishment. You will own the commercial process from early-stage estimating through final accounts, collaborating with project managers, designers and subcontractors.

The role requires 7+ years of NZ QS experience, a tertiary qualification in QS or related field, and strong IT/contractual skills.

• Strong IT skills, solid contractual knowledge and cost reporting.

• Prepare early-stage estimates, cost plans and budgets.
• Manage tender processes: documentation, analysis, negotiations and recommendations.
• Oversee contract administration, variations, payment claims and cost reporting.
• Drive value engineering and procurement strategies.
• Manage subcontractor relationships and commercial risk.
• Lead final accounts, claims resolution and close-out.
• Mentor junior QS/CA staff and support broader commercial capability.
