Job summary

Gibbons co is seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our in-house construction team in New Zealand. The role involves cost planning, procurement, tendering, contract administration, and cost forecasting, with regular site involvement and travel to projects across New Zealand.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of QS experience in residential construction, a relevant degree, and strong NZS 3910 knowledge.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' QS experience in residential construction or development.
• Relevant university qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of construction costs and NZS 3910 contracts.
• Experience with tendering, procurement and subcontractor management.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider construction team.
• Practical, solutions‑focused approach.
• Willingness to travel throughout New Zealand.

We're looking for an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our in-house construction team, working closely with our development team across a range of residential construction projects. This is a hands‑on construction role, with regular involvement on site. You will also be required to travel to projects throughout New Zealand, including some exciting projects outside your home region.

About you
