Job summary

ConsultANZ is seeking a Graduate or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join its Tauranga team, delivering contract management and cost control across major infrastructure and construction projects.

Under a Senior QS, you will review variations, prepare correspondence, and contribute to project reporting while developing practical skills in cost management and commercial administration.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• 1–4 years' experience in QS, contract administration, or commercial construction.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and ability to interpret contractual documentation.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review variations, claims, and contractor submissions.
• Prepare commercial and contractual correspondence.
• Process payment certificates and claims.
• Review supporting documentation.
• Assist with contract administration and commercial reporting.
• Maintain project and contractual records.

ConsultANZ is looking for a Graduate or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join an established New Zealand-based project and commercial advisory business in Tauranga. The business specializes in quantity surveying, contract management, cost management, and commercial advisory services across major infrastructure, civil, energy, industrial, and commercial projects.

This is a great opportunity to build practical experience in contract administration, variations, payment claims, and project cost management.

About the Role

Working under a Senior QS, you will support the commercial and contractual management of projects, working with clients and main contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Review variations, claims, and contractor submissions
• Prepare commercial and contractual correspondence
• Process payment certificates and claims
• Review supporting documentation
• Assist with contract administration and commercial reporting
• Maintain project and contractual records
• Liaise with contractors and project stakeholders as required

What You Will Bring

• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Commercial Management, or a related field
• Ideally 1–4 years' experience in QS, contract administration, or commercial construction
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication and ability to interpret contractual documentation
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
