Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a proactive Despatch Coordinator to join our Technical Services team in East Tamaki, Auckland. You’ll coordinate daily transport activities, connect customers, drivers and operations to keep services safe, on time and efficient.

This permanent, full-time role offers 40 hours per week, opportunities to develop transport operations knowledge, and a supportive team culture focused on doing things the right way.

Qualifications

• You’re calm under pressure, able to communicate with different people and make quick decisions.
• Experience in customer service, coordination, administration or similar operational role.
• Experience in transport, logistics or despatch is advantageous.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between customer service, operations and drivers to ensure reliable service.
• Monitor daily routes and respond quickly to missed, delayed or rescheduled jobs.
• Review route sequencing to increase efficiency and reduce fuel use.
• Identify system or route issues and ensure information remains accurate.
• Communicate with customers about delays or service changes.
• Monitor unserviced, rolled and rejected jobs and help resolve issues.
• Review operational documents, run sheets, weigh dockets and system information.
• Support reporting, data entry, purchase orders, weighbridge lodgements and end-of-month tasks.
• Contribute to improvements across operational systems and processes.
