Job summary

Oranga Tamariki, the Ministry for Children, is seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to join the HR Services team. You will provide first-line HR advice across the employee lifecycle and support managers and staff with timely, customer-focused service.

You'll manage HR workflows in ServiceNow, maintain employee records, and assist with recruitment, onboarding and documentation. Flexible working options are available and remuneration recognises skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in HR coordination or HR support.
• Experience using HRIS and maintaining employee records.
• Experience preparing employment documents (agreements, letters of offer, variations).
• Strong customer service and supporting managers/employees.
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Understanding of employment legislation and HR practices; confidentiality.
• Appreciation of tikanga Māori and ability to work with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Providing first-line HR advice on policies, procedures and employment agreements
• Preparing employment agreements, letters of offer and variations
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
• Managing HR workflows and responding to enquiries through ServiceNow
• Maintaining employee records and HR system data
• Supporting reporting activities and process improvements
• Building positive relationships with managers and stakeholders across the organisation
