Fergbutcher in Arrowtown is seeking a Head Chef to lead the food truck kitchen with a hands-on, bustling team of 8.

You will set kitchen standards, mentor staff, manage rosters, oversee food safety and health policies, and drive consistent quality across all offerings.

• 2 years relevant experience in leading and managing kitchen teams.

The Ferg Group of businesses are hiring now for a Head Chef to join Fergbutcher!

About: Based in beautiful Queenstown where fun and adventure exists all year round, Fergburger started as a hole in a wall down a hard to find alley in 2001. Our focus was on our customers and ensuring they have the best experience & providing the highest quality of food - something we still take pride in today. Fergburger proved to be extremely popular with the locals and tourists, so from 2011 Fergbaker was born and since then we have gone on to open Mrs Ferg Gelateria, Ferg's Bar, Fegbutcher, and soon to join the Ferg Foods group will be Fergbaker Arrowtown, opening very soon! Ferg has become a must do when visiting the Queenstown area.

Fergbutcher was the first of the Ferg Buisnesses to be based in Arrowtown. Fergbutcher provides meats to both retail and wholesale customers and also supplies meats to it's brother and sister stores. Fergbutcher even has its very own food truck designed to showcase the amazing flavours it has on offer.

Our Fergbutcher food truck offers a range of gourmet sandwiches and burgers showcasing Fergbutcher's delicious and distinctive products. We are now hiring for a Head Chef to lead a fantastic team of 8.

About the Role:

Oversee, lead and manage the day to day running of all aspects of the kitchen operation.

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the operations and organisation of the food truck kitchen.
• Mentor and provide hands on leadership to your team, establishing kitchen standards and best practice.
• Lead in maintaining food safety standards and procedures.
• Manage staff, rosters and be part of the recruitment process.
• Lead and adhering to Health and Safety polices and standards.
• Ensure all team members are briefed and instructed on Ferg's food standards, policies and procedures
• Training and upskilling your team

Requirements:

• 2 years relevant experience in leading and managing kitchen teams
• Must be available to work on a full time roster 40-45 hours per week (30 hours minimum contract), working mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends
• Reliable transport as Fergbutcher is based in Arrowtown on 7 Bush Creek Road
