Job summary

PDV Consultants Ltd – Hamilton, North Island is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You will deliver technical drawings and designs for plant, equipment, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and prepare layouts.

The role involves design reviews, onsite measurement, 3D laser scanning, and supporting tender documentation and project management on projects to reduce emissions and introduce high-level automation.

Qualifications

• Strong command of Inventor and AutoCAD (or similar software).
• Hands-on experience with FEA and designing mechanical equipment would be an advantage
• Excellent eye for detail and communication skills
• A passion for innovative and creative design

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings for plant and equipment, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
• Deliver design works and participate in design reviews.
• Conduct onsite measurements and 3D laser scanning.
• Supervise site activities and progress.
• Engage in tender documentation and project management.

Due to a range of exciting new projects an opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Projects in the pipeline, include enhancing the environment by reducing emissions, and introducing new, high level automation processing technology; so, it’s a great time to join the PDV Consultants team.

Job Summary

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support our team of engineers by delivering technical drawings and designs. Your role will involve creating detailed drawings for plant and equipment and piping and instrumentation diagrams. You will also prepare building and equipment layouts. Although no two days are the same, your typical day would include design works, participating in design reviews, onsite measurement, 3D laser scanning, site supervision, working on FEA, completing tender documentation and project management.
