Job summary

Recruitnet Consulting Group Ltd is seeking a Design Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of engineered products — from early-stage concepts and prototypes through to production launch and ongoing improvement.

You'll work in a cross-functional engineering team to turn customer needs and technical requirements into practical, manufacturable and commercially sound mechanical designs, delivering robust, cost-conscious solutions.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/design engineer with ability to balance technical detail with the commercial picture.
• Strong capability in mechanical design and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Experience turning concepts into feasible, manufacturable products.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies and production drawings.
• Apply DFM/DFA, tolerancing and material selection.
• Take concepts through feasibility, design reviews, prototyping and validation.
• Develop BOMs and coordinate with procurement and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, software and production teams.
• Design with cost, performance and manufacturability in mind.
• Support root-cause analysis and resolve production or field issues.
• Manage engineering documentation, design changes and validation records.

This is an opportunity for a capable Design Engineer to take real ownership of engineered products — from early-stage concepts and prototypes through to production launch and ongoing improvement.

Working as part of a cross-functional engineering team, you’ll turn customer needs and technical requirements into practical, manufacturable and commercially sound mechanical designs.

About the role

You’ll be hands-on across the full product development lifecycle, including:

• Developing 3D CAD models, assemblies and production drawings
• Applying DFM/DFA, tolerancing, material selection and mechanical engineering principles
• Taking concepts through feasibility, design review, prototyping and validation
• Developing BOMs and working closely with procurement and manufacturing
• Collaborating with electrical, controls, software and production teams
• Designing with cost, performance and manufacturability firmly in mind
• Supporting root-cause analysis and resolving production or field issues
• Managing engineering documentation, design changes and validation records

This isn’t a narrow CAD role. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how products are designed, built, launched and improved.

What we're looking for

You’ll be a mechanical/design engineer who enjoys solving real-world engineering problems and can balance technical detail with the bigger commercial picture.

You’ll bring strong mechanical design capability, confidence working in a multidisciplinary environment, and an understanding that a great design needs to perform on the drawing board, on the factory floor and in the hands of the customer.
