Job summary

Grada Recruitment in Queenstown is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical building services projects from concept through delivery. You will collaborate with clients, architects and contractors, with significant autonomy and a pathway to become the lead Mechanical Engineer in the Queenstown office.

You will also help develop client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the local business within a supportive national team.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• 5+ years of experience within mechanical building services consulting.
• Ability to manage projects independently and take ownership of outcomes.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and relationship-building capability.
• Desire to establish yourself long-term within the Queenstown market.
• New Zealand consulting experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver mechanical building services solutions.
• Manage projects through all phases of design and construction.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring where required.
• Support business development activities and strengthen client relationships.
• Contribute to the growth of the Queenstown office and wider South Island presence.
