Job summary

Ministry of Social Development NZ – New Plymouth is seeking Case Managers to support New Zealanders through employment changes, housing transitions and financial stress, helping connect people to the right support at the right time.

This role is complex, high-trust mahi, requiring empathy, sound judgement and the ability to navigate policy while keeping clients at the centre. MSD offers a Band 4 salary, induction and development in a collaborative public service.

Qualifications

• Citizenship or permanent residency in NZ, or Australian citizenship.
• Experience delivering client-focused social services is preferred.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with high trust.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to access employment, income support and housing assistance.
• Build trust and rapport with clients through effective communication and case management.
• Gather information, assess needs and make decisions in line with policy and legislation.
• Support clients to use digital and self-service options.
• Work across multiple systems while maintaining accurate and timely records.
• Collaborate with colleagues and service providers to achieve positive client outcomes
