The role requires NZ Register Level 2 in hospitality/retail or equivalent supervisory experience, strong leadership, and LCQ eligibility.

Qualifications

• NZ Register Level 2 diploma in hospitality/retail operations, or 1+ year supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant.
• Must hold or be eligible for Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ).
• Weekend availability is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure prompt service and quality food and beverages.
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints about food, beverages and service.
• Plan and prepare staff schedules and rosters, and assign duties.
• Interview, hire, train, evaluate, dismiss and promote staff, and resolve staff grievances.
• Instruct staff on how to handle difficult or complicated customer service situations.
• Examine returned or incorrect orders and decide on appropriate action.
• Take stock of food and beverage supplies and order new stock.
• Ensure menu items and products are correctly priced and displayed.
• Ensure health, safety and security procedures are enforced.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality food and beverages
• Responding to customer inquiries and complaints about food, beverages and service
• Planning and preparing staff work schedules and rosters, and assigning staff to specific duties
• Interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances

Skills and Experience Required

• A New Zealand Register Level 2 diploma (or higher) relevant to hospitality/retail operations, OR at least one year of relevant work experience in a supervisory or duty management role
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced restaurant environment
• Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ), as this role involves the sale and supply of alcohol
• Availability to work weekends is essential

Hours and Pay

A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed. Pay will be between $25.00 and $28.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
