Job summary

The Redoubt Bar and Eatery Te Awamutu is seeking 2 full-time Bar & Restaurant Duty Managers to lead the team and oversee on‑premises service in a busy hospitality venue. You will work across weekends, late nights and public holidays, reporting to senior management in Te Awamutu, New Zealand.

Ideal candidates hold 6–12 months of hospitality experience, with LCQ qualifications and a manager certificate considered highly beneficial for liquor service.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of experience in hospitality/customer service/retail including at least three months in hospitality
• LCQ qualifications and manager certificate preferred for liquor service

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a welcoming environment within the bar & restaurant.
• Keeping up to date with liquor licensing legislation.
• Ensure safety by following health and safety rules.
• Manage daily cleaning schedule with the team.
• Upsell food and beverages and make recommendations.
• Receive payments and operate the POS system.
• Coordinate stock and bar display with staff and management.
• Assist with staff training and recruitment and support menu updates.

Role Overview

We are looking for 2 X Bar & Restaurant Duty Managers to join our excellent hospitality venue in Te Awamutu. This position requires working on weekends and late nights and public holidays. We are 25 minutes from Hamilton CBD and a well established bar and eatery since 1999.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Candidate with LCQ qualifications and manager certificate will be preferred for this role as this is essential to serve liquor in the establishment.

Responsibilities

• Keeping up to date with licensing legislations in regards to liquor laws.
• Follow health and safety rules to ensure safety of other staff and customers.
• Carrying out the daily cleaning schedule within the bar with team
• Bring food and beverage elements of the bar in an attractive way to customers and use upselling where needed.
• Ability to upsell, cross-sell and make recommendations.
• Prepare and Serve bottled alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails, mocktails etc.
• Receiving payments from patrons and operate POS.
• Getting staff to replenish stock and bar display.
• Shift management and stock management with senior managers
• Help Management with staff training and recruitment
• Assisting Restaurant & Bar Manager with menu planning and drinks menu changes time to time
• Helping Bar Manager & Restaurant Manager with Cost Controls, Budgeting and Stock Handling
